Cords Of Penance is a small family business located in rural North-East Ohio. In our online store, we sells sisal and cotton scourges intended for spiritual discipline, i.e. mortification of the flesh. Our handcrafted rope whips come in different lengths and sizes/ thickness of rope to accomodate the needs of our customers. The discilpines have different numbers of falls (traditionally three, seven or nine) and knots per fall (usually either one or three).
As a service to the Christian community in general as well as our customers in particular, we aim at providing relevant information concerning the practice of spiritual discipline as a tool of sanctification from a non-denominational Christian perspective.
