Consider our beaded hemp Cat-O’-Nine-Tails whip: This is an instrument designed for ritual flogging featuring 27 spruce wood beads, three to each of its nine tails of 22 inches each. Our Cat will not lacerate the skin like its traditional ancestors did, but for ritual flogging as well as on stage, for example in a Passion Play or as a Lenten display prop, it will drive home the idea. The wooden beads add additional bite as well as sound.
Fashioned with 6mm unmixed hemp rope, each tail ends with three knots and three spruce beads. The smooth grip lies well in the hand, and the weighty falls make for a particularly balanced swing. You want to give yourself some room to fully benefit from the length of the tails.
The 100% hemp rope we use for this Cat-O’-Nine-Tails is a natural, biodegradable product, grown without pesticides and herbicides, processed without using chemicals. This pure, unmixed hemp rope won’t cause allergies or fray easily, and it does not contain synthetic oils. It is strong, mold- and UV-resistant, exceptionally durable, and retains its knots very well. You need neither oil, wax, nor otherwise condition your Hemp Cat-O’-Nine-Tails.
